TECHNICAL TIPS
The following technical tips have been listed
chronologically in the order they were submitted.
We are still learning about all there is to know about
mountaineering, rock and ice climbing. No matter how long
you have been climbing there is always new information and
gear being generated that can help us to enjoy adventure
pursuits safely and aid us in reaching our goals
successfully. For this reason I feel it is crucial to
share as much technical information as we can with each
other. Hopefully this will help us all to be as safe and
efficient in our mountaineering skills and techniques as
we possibly can be. At it's very core the kind of
adventure pursuits that we love are extremely unforgiving
and non preferential. For this reason there is no room for
ignorance, sloppiness or inefficiency. It is paramount to
have a working understanding of all that is involved with
the adventure activities we wish to pursue. Each and
everyone of us that ties into a rope or gets geared up to
climb a mountain has a responsibility to help keep the
search and rescue teams where they should be - patiently
waiting for that next emergency call.
